Our flights back to Dunedin from Rotorua went smoothly. Once we arrived in Duendin, we settled into the house and then went for a walk around campus. My parents enjoyed the beautiful buildings and seeing where Kit works at. We went out for dinner at one of our favorite bar/restaurants close to campus. The next day Kit had to go back to work and my parents and I hung out around Dunedin in the morning. We went to St.Clair beach and walked around, then to the botanical gardens where we met Kit for lunch. In the afternoon we drove out to the peninsula and went on a hike and tried to see penguins, but no luck. It was a great start to our week on the South Island.

Closest we have ever been to the South Pole, or any pole.
