Nick's visit: London Part 2

The next day in London Nick and I walked around and went to see Big Ben and Westminster Abbey since he didn't see them the day before. We had a great morning and had yummy lunch at a Mexican Tapas restaurant. Then we headed back to Leicester to meet Kit and our friend Kate for some drinks.

We walked along the Thames River for awhile. Even though it was cold we had a really nice walk.

While walking through St. James Park we saw the queens guards walking by.

The next day I gave Nick a tour of Leicester. We had lunch with Kit on campus and went downtown.

We spent our time in Leicester relaxing and sleeping in a bit. We flew to Dublin on Wednesday night and had an amazing time there. Pictures to come soon.

Nick's visit- London Part 1

My brother Nick came to visit last week. It was his first time to the UK and we had an amazing week. We started off in London, then went to Leicester and lastly to London.  Nick really enjoyed London and it was so nice to be there when it wasn't a high tourist time. It was very cold outside and I was recovering from a nasty cold but we still enjoyed London as much as we have any other time.


We met Nick at the airport and went to check into our apartment we were staying in. As we were walking to our apartment we passed The American Church of London, which I thought was fitting for us.

Nick's plane was delayed so we didn't get out until later in the night. We stopped by this old pub with stain glassed window and had our first pint. We then had a some pub food and some more drinks in our neighborhood.

We were staying in Fitzrovia neighborhood and walked to Soho and Chinatown.

The next day we took the tube to Traflagar Square and then onto the London bus tour

We went to the Euston tap which was suppose to have American Beer on tap. It was a cool little bar in a marble column outside of the bus station.

It was a great day!

 Kit left early the next day to get back to work. He almost didn't make his train, he borded with 2 minutes to spare. Nick and stayed and enjoyed more of London..

Waiting for Nick!

I am sitting in a coffee shop in London waiting for Nick to arrive. His flight was delayed 3 hours because of mechanical problems. I am not sure but I think he had to sit on the plane that whole time. Poor guy. We are so excited to see him and have him experience the UK. We are also going to Dublin, Ireland for four days. It is going to be an amazing trip and I can't wait to see him. We are leaving here in about 20 minutes to catch the underground to the airport. I am so excited!!!

 we went to a pub when we got here to wait until Nicks flight got in. It was 10:30 in the morning and the place was packed with people drinking and singing. Got to love England!
