9 months

I spent 9 months pregnant and now you are 9 months old! These past 18 months have been amazing! I love this age right now. Lachlan loves to play with us, imitate us, make silly faces, laugh, crawl everywhere and play with his toys. He loves to clap for himself and for others. He still loves swimming and music. He kicks his legs and splashes through the whole swimming class. He loves waving at the people when they walk by the pool, like they stopped by just to see him. He loves floating on his back and even closes his eyes when we go under the water now. He has just started to dance to music by himself, which is just too cute!

This past month he has started to point at stuff, and follows the airplanes that fly overhead, butterflies and birds in the backyard. He loves to read and gets very excited about books that are his favorite. He has started "talking" along when we read. He loves tractors and trucks. He has started putting objects in a basket and then taking them back out again. He has started rolling/ kicking a ball back in forth with me or Kit. He also loves his finger puppets and his stuffed animals.

He loves imitating what we say. He says nigh nigh when we say night night and da da and ma ma. He tries to say ball and bye bye. He loves given us kisses and his toys kisses too. He weighs almost 18 pounds and is 28 1/2 inches long.  He is taking two naps a day a short one in the morning a longer one around 1 1/2 hours- 2 hours in the afternoon. We love him more and more every day and are so blessed to have him in our lives.

8 Months

My sweet baby is 8 months old! He is so much fun to be around. He loves his mommy and daddy. He gives us kisses and hugs and they are the most special kisses and hugs ever! Lachlan started army crawling this month. He loves that he can get around more easily, he was so frustrated when he couldn't crawl at all. He is starting to figure out his toys and how they work. He can put a ball in his lady bug and loves watching it spin.

He has also started to sit up from his belly. Lachlan doesn't love to eat solids but he is making some progress. He loves to take his spoon and feed mommy or daddy though. Lachlan has started waving to mommy and daddy and has even waved to some strangers. He loves flirting with people, smiling and talking to them. He also started to clap with his hands open this month and will start clapping when you ask him too. He loves when mommy tells him what the animals say, especially the cow- moo is his favorite!

He still has no teeth but his hair is getting longer and thicker. People are always commenting on how he has beautiful red hair!

7 Months and first Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas! We went back to Illinois to visit family for two weeks. It was so nice to spend Lachlan's first Christmas with our families. Lachlan loved to unwrap his gifts and play with the paper. I think the paper was more exciting than the gifts.

Lachlan is learning how to clap his hands. He is still clapping them with his hands shut but he gets the idea! He has figured out how to kick his new car he got for christmas to get it to move which he finds really exciting. He is so happy and smiles at us often. He has started to give us kisses when we ask for them also. Lachlan still loves swimming and music. His new favorite song is MilkShake- a song we sing at the library. He also loves playing with his friends and going on walks. Lachlan has started to push up on his hands and knees and is rocking back in forth. We think he will be crawling soon!

Such a sweet baby!

I'll have that paper please!

We might be in trouble- he rolled over to play with these knobs on the tv stand!

This paper is amazing!

6 months

Lachlan is 6 months, I can't believe that it has been 6 months since he was born. We feel we are the luckiest people on earth and the love we have for him grows every day. It is amazing the places we have been and the accomplishments that he has done in this time period.

He is such a happy baby and smiles and everyone. He can now put his foot in his mouth and suck on his toes if he wants. He can shake rattles on his own and is reaching for toys he wants to play with. He has started to pass a toy from one hand to the other. Lachlan loves mirrors, he loves to look in them and smiles everytime we pass one. He has figured out that the reflections in the mirror are actual us and will look at the mirror and then to us when we make a silly face at him. He loves running water and getting his hands washed. He has started to sit up on his own and is belly laughing.

When Lachlan gets excited he kicks his legs to let you know. He is still loving swimming class and singing/ storytime at the library. He has had a lot of visitors lately and loved entertaining them all. He met his Uncle Cody and Aunt Jenni for the first time this month also.

We visited the Boyce Thompson Arboretum
We had a wonderful day exploring
