30 weeks

30 weeks!

That leaves 9 weeks and 2 days to go, 65 days left until my due date. It's getting close! We're really getting excited to meet this little boy who kicks my stomach at all hours of the day. He is starting to grow a lot in the next 9 weeks. Right now he is around the size of a pineapple and weighs around 3 pounds. He will be 31 weeks on Tuesday and his five sense will be completely developed.

I have had a rough couple of weeks lately, the stomach flu was the latest development. I am finally feeling better but I am hoping that I can make it through this week without having to take any days off of work! I only have two more weeks until I am done teaching. I'm excited but it will be weird to be on maternity leave so early.

Last night Kit and I celebrated 30 weeks by going out to dinner and eating 3 meals. This is a date night we had been looking forward to for weeks. I had only started eating "real" food on Friday after the stomach bug so I was nervous that I wouldn't be up for dinner. But I relaxed all day and my stomach was finally back to being normal. I was actually quite hungry and had room for an appetizer, dinners and a bit of lemon sorbet. We had so much fun and it was so nice to actually go out to dinner and feel good. I'm usually so exhausted at night (granted we at reservations at 630 and was home by 9).
Here are some pictures from our dinner:

Before dinner 30 week pictures
(a little peek of our wall decals for the baby's corner)

 First course:
Eggplant Parmesan

One of our favorite restaurants in Leicester:
San Carlo

main meals:
Pizza and spinach ricotta cannelloni
Yum!
I only ate part of my pizza, so we took it home and finished it off later than night.

After dinner drink for Kit: Brandy
We forgot to take a picture of the lemon sorbet.

And a self portrait before bedtime where you can see my belly in all its glory

Today is mother's day in the UK
and I got some amazing flowers and card for my first official mother's day!

Harry Potter Part 3

Last installment of the Harry Potter Studio pictures!   The lighting wasn't the best for taking pictures in the next part so there is a lot of purple and dark colors but enjoy anyway!

Hagrid's Motorcycle

Tom Riddle's Father's Grave

Number 4 Privet Drive!

Godric's Hollow - The Potter's house

The Knight Bus

Hogwart's Bridge wasn't actually in any of the books but made its first appearance in the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Me with a shot of the baby belly-
I hope he will be a Harry Potter fan also!

The Flying Ford Angila.
I had to make this picture extra large size because it is one of my favorites, just look at that face!

I had to kick a 7 year old kid out of the car to get my picture, he was playing around in there forever!

Yum, butterbeer
Which tastes just like cream soda!

There was a whole section of masks and wax mannequins of different characters from the book, I left out most of those pictures because they were a bit creepy, but I couldn't leave out Dobby

Creatures from Harry Potter
A Thestral

Buckbeak

Aragog with a Dementor and The Basilisk

After visiting all the creatures of Harry Potter we turned the corner into Diagon Alley!
it was so amazing to actually walk down the street and look into the shop windows.

Ollivander's wand shop

The Apothercary

Gringotts Wizard Bank

Flourish and Blotts for all of your book needs

A Nimbus 2000 in the window

The Weasley's Wizard Wheezes Shop

The next room we went into had a model of the castle. This model is completely accurate to the books and the movies.  It was actually used for some of the movies when they showed the whole castle or parts of the castle from above.

Picking out our  wands

The last place we went before leaving the studio into the gift shop was a wand shop where each wand box had a name of every person who worked on the Harry Potter movies

In the gift shop playing around with the wands that you could buy. You could buy anyone's wand from the movie- Harry's, Hermoines, Dumbledore etc. They all looked different and had different weights to them just like in the books.

The gift shop, as usual, was very over priced but we bought a nice Hogwarts cup and a magnet. We had an amazing time at the studio tour and recommend it to anyone who is a Harry Potter fan! I would go back in a heartbeat just to experience it all over again! What a magical day!
