Hiking in the Peak District

We did a lot of hiking in the Peak District. The first day we drove to an area that was close by and did some easy walks. It was so nice to be out in Nature again.

An old Mill stone

The Rhododendrons were beautiful.

Burt on the cliffs. The cliffs reminded us of Southern Illinois.

Will and Mel getting ready to jump the puddle

We have had so much rain which makes everything so green.

Stone fences

We found a rope swing and had to try it out.

So much fun and some close calls of falling in the water.

We had lunch at this amazing outdoor garden. They had little hidden rooms in the garden where you could eat or tables in the middle.

A castle we drove by.

That night we tried to walk to the local pub through the fields behind our house but they were very flooded and boggy. It made for some very wet feet.

You can see the rain clouds in the distance,
we made it back to the cottage just in time.

Some sheep that were interested in us.

Great day- day 2 hiking next post
